Flame Incense Burner

Description

This cute little flame incense burner is one-of-a-kind! It’s little mouth is the perfect size for an incense stick, which hovers over the body of the piece, catching any ashes. Its eyes are little slits. Each of my pieces is a unique work of art, hand-made and lovingly shaped and glazed, so there will be a few imperfections.

The creation process:
1. I rolled the clay out into a flat sheet and cut the shape.
2. After drying for 2-3 days, I trimmed excess clay off of the piece and attached the eyes and mouth.
3. After reaching the bone-dry stage, some elements were painted with underglaze.
4. The piece was bisque fired in the kiln.
5. The piece was washed, then glazed with the red glaze.
6. The piece was fired in the kiln for a second time at cone 6.
7. It makes its way (hopefully) to your home! 🙂
